Tyler Alan Mason is a fine carpenter and craftsman based in the Catskill Mountains specializing in custom furniture.

I began woodworking 15 years ago. My first job was for a custom kitchen cabinetry company— I spent my first years out of high school learning what it means to work in and operate a professional wood shop. I then moved to NYC and began an apprenticeship with a master carpenter building custom furniture, outfitting NYC homes and restaurants with unique designs.

After years of living in the city, I returned north and set down roots in the Hudson Valley with my wife Bea. I began to explore work as a builder, restoring historic homes and offering modern home renovations.

In 2018, Bea and I founded Upstate Jamboree, offering old world game rentals for weddings and events throughout New York State and beyond. Inspired by old world European pub and market games, Moorish architecture, and traveling carnivals, we design and build the games from scratch with a modern sensibility.

Today, I am driven to create my very own body of work and have spent the last few years building my portfolio. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to help manifest their vision and create one-of-a-kind pieces using sustainably harvested local lumber whenever possible.

I am continuing to offer home renovation work as well. While I love the shop, it’s always nice to change up my work and help my clients improve their homes.

In addition, I have recently begun to offer van conversions. When Bea and I purchased our own van for our business, I dove head first into the world of van conversion. I found that my skills were well suited to the task and quickly learned the ins and outs of van conversion. I hope to send many more clients out on the open road in their very own dream van.
